If you've had the pleasure of listening to Joe Rogan's recent podcast with Max Holloway following his shock defeat to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245 for the Featherweight title, you'll know just how positive and endearing the Hawaiian genuinely is as a human being.

But, don't let that fool you.

As soon as he steps inside the Octagon 'Blessed' is all business and his fantastic run as interim (later undisputed) Featherweight Champion highlights just how dominant he has been within the UFC throughout the 2010s.

However, prior to getting his hands on that belt, Holloway also scored memorable victories over Cub Swanson, Jeremy Stephens and Ricardo Lamas, before he eventually took down Anthony Pettis for the interim title in late 2016.

This dominant reign as champion would then encompass victories over Jose Aldo (twice), Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar, before he was bested towards the end of 2019 - his first loss at Featherweight in six years.

The future looks bright for Holloway and at 28 he still has many years ahead of him to further add to his already impressive resume in the UFC.

Factor in the hilarious reality of Holloway actually perfecting his incredibly accurate striking game through studying the UFC video game in his earlier years and you quickly get an idea of just how remarkable his run during the last decade has been.

Here's hoping he gets back on track from 2020 onwards.
