10. Joe As Lana's Savior
Pretty soon, Lana's going to be white hot as a babyface performer. The WWE Universe has already taken to supporting her recent turn, with Rusev cranking out some truly excellent performances as a faux-sympathetic heel. Dolph Ziggler coming to Lana's aid has been a boon insofar as giving her character an initial boost, but does anyone in the WWE Universe really believe that Ziggler stands a chance in a feud with the Bulgarian Brute? Enter Samoa Joe. The night after Rusev defeats Dolph Ziggler at Summerslam, Rusev looks to injure him further on Raw. Cue Joe's music. Yes, he might be over like a fart in church initially, but have him slide in, drop Rusev with a suplex, and then hook in the Kokina Clutch. Rusev tapping wildly to Joe would certainly create some intrigue. Joe cutting a promo and saying that he's not in WWE to kiss Lana or make friends but to break Rusev in half would be fun. Having these two go on an undefeated rampage until Survivor Series would be terrific. Rusev's ready to move past "evil anti-American guy" and Joe can certainly hold up his part of the bargain as the "Samoan Submission Machine" versus Rusev, who, as you may have forgotten, has been purported as a character to have a sambo karate background. Totally believable MMA-feeling match between two mixed martial artists? While not a main event special, it could certainly add some spice to a sometimes lacking midcard.
