Working as Raven's lackey, Richards was given the opportunity of a lifetime, even if the match was pretty much booked as Savage squashing him to make a statement against his superior. What was cool about this one for fans, was that both Raven and Richards had been heavily associated with ECW. The Raven character hadn't really been seen outside of Paul Heyman's promotion, which made it special when he and his 'Flock' started invading WCW. By 1997, Randy Savage had been in WCW long enough that fans considered him very much a part of the company, so it was interesting to see him booked against these newcomers. This wouldn't be considered one of Raven's main rivalries during his time in WCW, but it was a massive moment for Stevie Richards, even to work with Savage must have been special.
