10 Best WCW vs. ECW Matches

6. Mike Awesome vs. Kevin Nash - WCW Nitro 2000

Upon signing for WCW in 2000, Mike Awesome was widely regarded as someone who could make a big splash with the promotion. Looking for all the world like the perfect blueprint for a modern professional wrestler, Awesome appeared to have all the tools anyone could wish to possess if they wanted to make it to the top. Tearing it up in exciting matches against the likes of Masato Tanaka in ECW, Awesome lived up to his billing throughout 1999, turning heads wherever he went. At first, Awesome appeared on WCW programming whilst still technically under contract to ECW, but because the man hadn't been paid in a while, he decided to take matters into his own hands. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x84fnj_kevin-nash-vs-mike-awesome_sport Kick-starting a feud with Kevin Nash, Awesome was booked strongly from the outset, but this wouldn't last in the company. Before long, the unlimited potential of the man was spoiled badly by crass gimmicks such as 'That 70's Guy' and the 'Fat Chick Thrilla'. Needless to say, these characters tanked, and Awesome was never quite the same again.
