10 Best WrestleMania Rematches That Ever Happened At Backlash
7. The Undertaker vs. Edge (Backlash 2008)

WrestleMania XXIV had ended with The Undertaker reclaiming the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Edge in an excellent main event. Edge had returned to the company at the previous year's Survivor Series, disguising himself as a cameraman and costing 'Taker a title match against Batista. The first big singles match between the pair would occur at 'Mania, but this clash was not the culmination of their story but rather the start of a programme that would rumble on throughout 2008, culminating in a Hell In A Cell war at SummerSlam.
Before that, the Phenom and the Rated-R Superstar faced each other in a WrestleMania rematch at Backlash. The chemistry between the two was evident as they repeated the high quality of their first encounter. Going back and forth to great crowd reactions, the audience firmly behind 'Taker as he fought not only Edge but the former champion's lackeys, the Edgeheads duo of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.
The contest would end with the Undertaker catching Edge in his Hell's Gate submission hold for the victory. A tremendous match, it couldn't quite match the emotion, setting and scale of their 'Mania original, but taken by itself it was another fine addition to the series of top-quality clashes the Rated-R Superstar and the Deadman would have that year.
