10 Best Wrestlers Of 2022

9. Dax Harwood

Together, FTR were the best tag team in the world in 2022. Individually, Dax Harwood was regularly amongst the best singles wrestlers in the world in 2022. This made him a lock for a list in a year that saw fans once against spoiled for choice when it came to great wrestling, across a multitude of companies.

With Cash Wheeler by his side, Dax battled Jay and Mark Briscoe in a duo of tag team dream matches once thought impossible, the first of which was followed, days later, by a Young Bucks clash far exceeding their Full Gear 2020 match. Under NJPW's banner, the long-awaited Aussie Open collision was a dramatic, blood-soaked war that saw both teams indulge in their penchant for pro wrestling drama without ever losing sight of the fight.

FTR's 2022 contains more tag team excellence, too, like the outrageously fun Rock 'N Roll Express bout. This is just their high-level work - and it is untouchable.

But perhaps the most satisfying thing about Harwood's 2022 was his emergence as a singles wrestler. Shining in a new environment that pushed his Bret Hart influences to the forefront, Dax looked like one of the smartest, most thoughtful, and detail-oriented wrestlers around in clashes with CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Will Ospreay, and countless, countless others. Tony Khan deserves plaudits for allowing Harwood to thrive in this setting - but not as much as Dax deserves them for killing it.

The only thing missing from his and FTR's year was another run as AEW Tag Team Champions. Good thing they have those AAA, ROH, and IWGP belts, then...
