10 Best Wrestlers Who Came Out Of The WCW Power Plant

10. Chuck Palumbo

There was a time when musclebound beach bum Chuck Palumbo was considered a surefire World Champion in WCW. When he debuted on TV, Palumbo worked a Tarzan gimmick called 'Jungle Jim' (seriously, welcome to late-90s WCW), but it didn't take long until he was rethought as Chuck and became muscle for the 'Natural Born Thrillers' group.

It's not hard to see why trainers at the Power Plant thought Palumbo would be a star. His height, frame and deceptive agility for a big dude made him seem like a hybrid of old power-based workers and the new, quicker pace of in-ring work wrestling was veering towards.

Chuck would go on to find success in WWE once WCW faded.

His best gig came when tagging with Billy Gunn as the heel Billy & Chuck tandem. Tag Title success, as well as the heavily-criticised gay wedding angle, made Palumbo a bigger star than he'd ever been. Had WCW not got in first with the Power Plant, Chuck might've been hired by WWE anyway.
