10 Best Wrestlers Who Came Out Of The WCW Power Plant

6. Chris Kanyon

Fun fact: Kanyon helped train NBA star Karl Malone for his tag match main event alongside DDP at Bash At The Beach 1998. He was trusted by WCW higher-ups to whip anybody into ring shape, show them the basics and give them some understanding of wrestling psychology. Think of him as WCW's answer to Al Snow, who was responsible for some of WWE's best matches.

Who better than Kanyon?

When he wasn't training sports stars, Chris was found either playing Mortal Kombat rip-offs like Mortis, following Raven around as part of his 'Flock' or teaming alongside DDP in the 'Jersey Triad' group. A solid, reliable worker who was inventive and smart in-ring, Kanyon seemed like a can't miss prospect when WWE secured his contract in 2001.

Sadly, his life is another tragic tale. Struggling with both his sexuality and mental health, Kanyon eventually came out as gay, but took his own life in 2010. His story is one of supreme talent mixed with hellish inner battles against bipolar disorder.
