10 Best Wrestling Dives

5. Kurt Angle Moonsaults Off The Cage (WWE Raw, 2001)

Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit produced a number of awesome matches together throughout their WWE runs, with their 2001 steel cage match featuring two of the most memorable moments of either man's’ career.

Both wrestlers were renowned for their skill and technique, but this bout was all about the high spots. Taking place on an otherwise nondescript episode of Monday Night Raw, it brought the daredevil out in both men. Benoit scored an epic diving headbutt from the top of the cage later in the match, which definitely shouldn’t be downplayed, but it was ultimately overshadowed by his opponent's efforts earlier on.

Angle always had one of wrestling’s most graceful Moonsaults, and he took it to the next level that night. Downing Benoit with an Olympic Slam, the gold medallist started scaling the cage, but escaping wasn’t his intention. Instead, Kurt soared from the top of the structure, getting outrageous air as he flew down to the mat with the biggest Moonsault of his career… only to eat a faceful of canvas. Benoit rolled-out of the way at the last possible second, but this didn’t sour Angle’s stance on the spot, and he repeated it while wrestling Mr. Kennedy in TNA 10 years later.
