5. Andy Kaufman Vs. Jerry Lawler - Man On The Moon
Notorious anti-comedian Andy Kaufman was always a fan of professional wrestling and made a name for himself within the industry as the self-proclaimed Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion of the World. It wouldn't be until 1982 that he would step into the ring with a man: Memphis legend, Jerry "The King" Lawler.
Lawler and Kaufman worked on a secret angle to keep the action looking as real as possible. After all, this was the 80's when kayfabe was still alive and well. So their feud may have looked real at the time but it was all planned between the two.
They would eventually enter the ring at the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum, with the end coming after Lawler hit the Piledriver, breaking Kaufman's neck, which was legit but was exaggerated for comic effect.
The Lawler/Kaufman odyssey was lovingly recreated in the 1999 film Man On The Moon, with Kaufman portrayed by Jim Carrey and Lawler returning to play himself. The wrestling match is recreated to a T, with Lawler looking every bit as good as in his prime and ready to literally slap the Kaufman out of Carrey. As happened in the real match, their bout ended after Lawler's piledriver and Kaufman was taken from the ring on a stretcher.
