In many ways, The Undertaker-Triple H "End of an Era" match was the culmination of a four-year storyline.

At WrestleMania XXV, Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels in one of WrestleMania's greatest contests. The following year, Undertaker beat Michaels in a rematch that cost HBK his career.

When Undertaker made a return prior to WrestleMania XXVII, Triple H interrupted him, demanding satisfaction on behalf of his best friend.

Undertaker won that match, but Triple H dominated the contest, forcing Undertaker to seek a Hell in a Cell rematch at WrestleMania XXVIII - and this time, Michaels would be the referee.

Undertaker won the psychological battle prior to the match, coming down to the ring decked out in one of his most intimidating leather coats and removing his hood to reveal a terrifying mohawk.

Still, Triple H had the advantage of having Michaels in his pocket, and the two went to war in a brutal battle that forever ended the debate as to whether a good cage match needs blood.

Triple H very nearly won the bout following a barrage of chair shots, and again after a Sweet Chin Music from Michaels into a Pedigree. Finally, Undertaker hit a second Tombstone, and Michaels reluctantly made the three count.

Fans were rapt from the moment Undertaker showed off his new hairstyle, and despite Triple H's status as a babyface, we were all pulling for Undertaker.

The three men got a respectful and grateful ovation when they exited together after the match, and even though it wasn't really the end of any era, it was a display of skill and emotion that will never be forgotten.
