After beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, Brock Lesnar was on a hot streak like no other superstar ever. At SummerSlam, he took on John Cena for the WWE Championship and basically squashed him to capture the belt.

Lesnar, the reigning champion, took a leave of absence in the fall, but at Hell in a Cell, John Cena earned a title shot at the Royal Rumble. That match seemed to be set in stone, but weeks before the Rumble, The Authority granted Seth Rollins - who was already the reigning Mr. Money in the Bank - entry into the bout, making it a triple threat.

That all resulted in one of the most unpredictable and shocking bouts in WWE history. Cena versus Lesnar was guaranteed to be a hard-hitting affair, but Rollins was the x-factor, flying in and hitting high-risk moves whenever he got the opportunity. At one point, he put Lesnar through an announcers' table with a flying elbow drop, seemingly breaking "The Beast's" ribs and taking him out of action for several minutes.

In the end, though, Brock returned to the match and incapacitated his opponents with suplexes. Despite busting out a Phoenix Splash, Rollins was eventually nailed with an F5 and pinned, clearing Lesnar's road to WrestleMania 31.
