9. New World Order (2002)

No, the bogus incarnation of the nWo that featured Shawn Michaels, Booker T and Big Show (amongst others) wouldn't fit in any list of wrestling's best, and yes, the group was a watered-down mess just a few months after WWE brought it back in 2002. Still, WCW fans must have been happy to see Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as a trio again.

At first, the threesome worked alone and didn't have the countless hangers-on they did before. There was no Wolfpac, no nWo Black & White and certainly no B-team cronies to knacker proceedings. Initially, the original New World Order aura was restored.

Besides, it was just great to see guys like Hulk, Nash and Hall back 'home' in the company with which they shot to fame individually, and it seemed exciting to think of them clashing with The Rock and Steve Austin as the vicious nWo.

Fans were willing to give the idea a chance until it became clear that Hogan would return to his red and yellow roots. Though true the sparkle faded early on, that debut moment at No Way Out gave the product a shot of adrenaline.
