4. The Dangerous Alliance

The Dangerous Alliance's time together may have been short, but the level of talent assembled and the nature of the group's stranglehold on WCW ensures that it will be remembered forever. In many ways, The Dangerous Alliance was a Four Horsemen for the 1990s - once again, the company's most talented heels were brought together to win gold, but this time, the strings were being pulled by a ruthless, conniving businessman in the form of Paul E. Dangerously.

The genesis of The Dangerous Alliance occurred when Rick Rude made a surprise return to WCW, orchestrated by new manager Dangerously (who had a vendetta against WCW for firing him as an announcer). Soon, with a bit of help from Lex Luger and Madusa, Rude and Dangerously managed to capture the United States Championship from Sting. With gold on Rude's waist, he and Dangerously soon unveiled the rest of The Dangerous Alliance: Larry Zbyszko, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Steve Austin, and Madusa.

Along with Rude's U.S. Title, the group soon picked up the Television Championship (courtesy of Steve Austin) and the World Tag Team Championship (when Anderson and Eaton defeated Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes). The Dangerous Alliance feuded with all of the company's top babyfaces, finally building to a WarGames match at WrestleWar '92, where the group took on Sting, Steamboat, Rhodes, Barry Windham, and Nikita Koloff. When Sting submitted Eaton to win the match, the good guys finally got their win.

The Dangerous Alliance disbanded shortly after that - all told, the group was only together for about a year. Still, it's remembered as one of the best acts from the entire history of WCW and one of the sport's greatest factions.
