10 Best Wrestling Tag Teams Of 2021

6. FTR

Dangerous Tekkers
AEW

FTR's lower-end ranking is based solely on their lacklustre early-2021 as a two-man unit.

They took part in the inaugural Blood & Guts match they were involved in Stadium Stampede II, but both were as members of the overarching Pinnacle faction. At no point during this Pinnacle vs. Inner Circle war did Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler feel like a focal point; they were merely involved through association to MJF. This, in a way, also applies to the Jurassic Express match at The Crossroads; that was about the in-ring return of Tully Blanchard.

Post-Double or Nothing, the former AEW World Tag Team Champions transformed their year, being largely superlative in the ensuing months, partaking in one of Sting's greatest AEW matches thus far, and becoming embroiled in an enigmatic rivalry vs. the Lucha Bros, whom they bested for the AAA World Tag Team Championships.

This feud, highlighted by a frankly ridiculous match on the 10 December Rampage broadcast, is slowly becoming one of AEW's greatest to date. It positions Harwood and Wheeler in such a position that WWE critics had previously only dreamed of seeing them in.

This is artwork that should be viewed that way. A middling start to the year is all that holds FTR back for 2021.
