10 Best Wrestling Tag Teams Of 2021
3. Eddie Kingston And Jon Moxley
The lighter tag team schedule worked by Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley was taken into account when deciding upon their ranking, but their high placement, despite working just nine matches as a duo, is earned.
They were as important a tag team for AEW in 2021 as Adam Page was as a singles wrestler. Their open discussions relating to their respective personal battles have made them an entirely relatable - and therefore uber-babyface - duo.
In-ring-wise, Kingston and Moxley were on another level. They didn't necessarily create the blow-away, MOTY-calibre level of output that you'd expect from a top-three entry, however, the former rivals were instantly more believable as a team than any other WWE pairing of the last ten years. They combined their gritty in-ring styles to maul through a number of pairings en-route to Double or Nothing.
There, they were on par with the Young Bucks, wrestling a generational tag team match that was dramatic without ever reducing itself to WWE-levels of unneeded melodrama. Every slight hobble from Kingston added layer upon layer to the match's depth, made all the better by the gutsy performance from Mox.
As babyfaces, they're an immense duo. As potential heels down the line, though? Christ, there will be no ceiling.
