10 Best Wrestling Themes In The World Right Now!
Who has got the best soundtrack going at the moment?!
There are plenty of things that go into making an incredible professional wrestler. Everything from the costume down to their entrance is a finely crafted choice designed to give the performer a distinct identity and allow them to stand out amongst the crowd. But one element that excites fans most is entrance music, as it essentially encapsulates the feeling that a specific wrestler gives you.
There have been some iconic themes throughout the ages such as Shawn Michaels' "Sexy Boy" and Hulk Hogan's "Real American". Even mid-card performers have had popularity surges based on their iconic themes, such as Bobby Roode.
Thankfully, we find ourselves in a world right now which is over-saturated with wrestling content, and because of that, there is plenty of music to go around. Whether it is because the theme matches the performer so well, or just thanks to it being a catchy song, these tunes can be considered the best that the modern-day has to offer.
This list has been created by taking popularity into account and the personal views of the writer. There are still many fantastic theme songs that won't be appearing in the article, which is a testament to how good wrestling music is right now.
10. Shinsuke Nakamura - Shadows of a Setting Sun
Shinsuke Nakamura's signing in 2016 could have been a potential game-changer not just for the King of Strong Style but the company itself. However, his four years with WWE has been full of bad booking decisions, misjudgements of character and high-profile losses. The one saving grace is that the company at least gave him some incredible entrance music.
He first debuted with the fantastic "The Rising Sun", which captured audiences' hearts all over. It got to the point that crowds would sing this theme as it played, adding an aura of prestige not only to the former NJPW star but the music itself. Once he turned heel, WWE knew people would still be joining in so decided to try and make it harder for them by adding lyrics.
This updated version of the iconic tune is fantastic and has an intense energy. The dramatic sound of the vocals complement the music perfectly, as they sound less like singing, and more an aggressive attack of shouting that gives the song a harsher vibe, making it the perfect heel tune.
It's also inspiring to hear a song that isn't in English on WWE programming, even if we don't get to listen to it very often.
