When Vince McMahon made the decision to bring the WWF and WCW (by this time known as the World Title) belts together in late-2001, a new title was quickly needed to establish and represent the 'Undisputed' champ. Chris Jericho became the first Undisputed Champion at Vengeance in December, 2001, but would carry around both title belts separately. After Triple H defeated Jericho at Wrestlemania X-8, and the company was rebranded to WWE, the company wheeled out the WWE Undisputed Title, amalgamating the two belts into one. Again, the eagle makes an appearance, perched atop the promotion's new name, front and centre. Intriguingly, the design of the title is largely restrained, exuding class rather than WWE electing to throw bling at the strap in order to make it appear more flashy. A lot of fans fondly remember this version of the WWE Title, bemoaning the 'Spinner' version, which would follow once John Cena became champion.
