10 Best WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2010s
4. AJ Styles (November 2017-November 2018)
Faced with the prospect of Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal in a Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series 2017, WWE smashed their emergency button and put the title on AJ Styles instead.
The Phenomenal One's second title reign lasted far longer than anyone expected it to, as he was still champion 371 days after he beat The Maharaja.
This reign was dominated by Styles' feud with Shinsuke Nakamura, whom he fought on four back-to-back pay-per-views. The matches got better with time, but their meeting at WrestleMania 34 will always be remembered as one of the year's biggest disappointments.
Then came a rivalry with his old TNA flame Samoa Joe. This might have been another re-run of an old feud, but it still produced some memorable moments.
Finally, Styles wrapped up his time with the gold by losing to a newly-heel Daniel Bryan, kickstarting Bryan's run as an evil vegan.
Styles became only the eighth man in history to hold the WWE Championship for over a year, which puts him in some pretty elite company. Not bad for a guy who was once the face of their biggest competition.
