Rhyno's incredibly uncomplicated style was perfectly suited to the Hardcore Championship, something he proved with three reigns and a slew of memorable moments. Unfortunately many of these involved interferences on his behalf from loose stablemates Edge, Christian and William Regal, although Rhyno would prove capable of holding his own at Backlash 2001. A memorable match with Raven showed Rhyno matching the ECW alumnus blow for blow, and contained two memorable attempts at his finisher - the gore. His successful effort saw him charge up and over a set of ring steps into a flying variation of the move, but the failed attempt lives longer in the memory. Raven was able to move at the last second, leaving Rhyno to crash headfirst into a shopping cart, accidentally wedging himself inside. Raven did what any self-respecting hardcore wrestler would do in such a situation, and began raining down blows with a (literal) kitchen sink.
