But even better than Ziggler’s effort was the first-ever Money in the Bank cash-in, carried out by the Ultimate Opportunist himself, Edge. What made this so special was that since no-one had ever cashed in before, we were all unaware as to how exactly the cash-in would go down when it eventually came around.

Many presumed it would take place in a pre-arranged match of some sort, likely at WrestleMania. though that obviously didn't transpire. After overcoming the odds in a near-half hour Elimination Chamber match, John Cena lay bloodied and beaten in the ring. Enter Vince McMahon, who delivered that classic line:

“This individual is cashing in his Money in the Bank privilege that he earned at WrestleMania...”

That individual was, of course, Edge, who stormed to the ring to take the belt from Cena. Somehow through, the champ kicked out of Edge’s spear. Had Edge missed his chance? Was he going to be unable to capture the title from Cena?

A second spear finished off Cena and Edge capped off one of the most dramatic conclusions to a PPV in the history of WWE and win his first of eleven World Championships.
