10 Best WWE Network Shows Of 2018

8. All Aboard The Lex Express

‘All Aboard The Lex Express’ forces the viewer to work harder than mammoth push-recipient Lex Luger himself did during his horrifically misunderstood 1993 babyface run, delivering a three-hour block of unedited footage that is both fantastic and farcical for viewers of a certain age.

WWE carefully picked the best bits of Luger’s 4th July slamming of Yokozuna and ‘Call To Action’ campaign to bolster video packages, evocative montages and the hilariously hammy “I’ll Be Your Hero” music video ahead of his SummerSlam main event, but they didn’t half have to put some shifts in trying to find it all.

Luger goes f*cking everywhere on that absurdly expensive bus, looking more tired with the parade of autograph signings and smile-and-nods than he would have been if he’d worked the house show loop the rest of the roster were on instead. He’s Hulk Hogan in body, but not at all in mind and soul, and watching the exhaustive process wear him down before he’s even taken his babyface bow makes one wonder if Vince McMahon too saw the lack of glint in his eye before his original planned pay-per-view payoff.

Give it a look, but don’t ask yourself why you’re engaging something so patently unfit-for-purpose. Lex Luger didn’t.
