The most-missed man on WWE TV, the most popular new star of the last few years and most probably the best wrestler on the planet, of course Daniel Bryan is number one on this list. Bryan has taken part in three matches at Night of Champions, all of which have been title challenges, and he has been successful on every occasion.

He started in 2010, as his feud with NXT mentor The Miz came to a brilliant peak in a fine match for the United States title. The catharsis as Miz tapped to the Yes Lock was one of the highlights of the history of this event. 2012 saw Bryan team up with Kane as Team Hell No and end the life-affirming tag title run of Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. The oddball couple of Bryan and Kane would become one of the best parts of WWE TV, going a long way towards making The Shield such a valuable part of the company at the time.

Finally, Daniel Bryan would come out successful again in 2013, defeating Randy Orton for the WWE Championship just one month after being screwed out of the title by Orton and Triple H at SummerSlam. This wouldn't be so cathartic the next night on RAW, as a Scott Armstrong fast count led to Bryan being stripped of the title. All of this did lead to the wonderful moment at WrestleMania XXX however.

As if to ram home his dominance at Night of Champions, Bryan was also successful in his one dark match appearance, in 2011 against Heath Slater. Consistency, personified.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
