6. Brian Kendrick To SmackDown (2008)

Kendrick's team with Paul London had run out of steam before the end of 2007, likely due in part to London's cheesing during Vince McMahon's mental descent (the night of the infamous "limo explosion"). Kendrick was pulled to SmackDown in the supplemental portion of the Draft in 2008, where any residual heat on London wouldn't cook his long-time partner as well.

Shortly after arriving, Kendrick reinvented himself a trippy-pseudo philosopher with "The" affixed to his Christian name, as though it were "Dr." or "Sir". Flanked by the menacing Ezekiel Jackson, Kendrick enjoyed a brief run near the top of the card, and even "held" the WWE Championship during a Scramble match in September 2008, though it's not recognized as an official reign. Kendrick would leave WWE in July 2009, but had demonstrated the early benefits of having a new lease on one's career.
