Is there a more consistent female performer in WWE than the Irish Lasskicker, former SmackDown Live Women's Champion Becky Lynch? Charlotte gets all of the glory, Sasha Banks gets the critical acclaim, Bayley gets the core adulation, but Becky Lynch is the one who keeps the cogs moving and the wheel turning.

Lynch may well be the most underrated major talent in the company. 2016 has seen her have good to great matches against Charlotte, Alexa Bliss, Natalya, and more, showcasing a variety of styles and the sort of confident babyface fire that most faces in the company seem to lack, male or female.

That should be Straight Fire really, but I digress. Becky Lynch has had a great year, and nobody deserved to pick up a championship more than her. She was the right choice as inaugural SmackDown Live Women's Champion, and she has anchored that division with grace and poise.

Here's to another year of lass-kicking.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
