9. Nia Jax

She's not like most girls, don't you know! Nia Jax was called up to the main roster as part of the WWE Draft, and immediately set about destroying no-names as part of WWE's attempt to bring back old fashioned squash matches. Jax has been built up as a monster, and questionable Survivor Series tap-out aside the booking has been excellent.

Jax has come on leaps and bounds in the ring this year too, despite mostly working short two or three minute enhancement bouts. Her short feud with Asuka did wonders for her, and as she now moves into a feud with Sasha Banks the future is bright for The Rock's cousin.

2017 could end up being a big year for Jax, and 2016 has seen her go from NXT performer to solid main roster mainstay. She really needs to settle on a finishing move however.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
