When 2015 came to a close, Dana Brooke was still reeling from the beating she received at the hands of NXT Women's Champion Asuka. There seemed to be lots of time in development left for The Total Diva, so plenty of commentators were surprised when she arrived on the main roster in May of 2016. Dana continued her alliance with Emma, an alliance that was cut short immediately when Emma was injured just four days later.

That could have been curtains for Dana, who suddenly found herself in the big sea without a ship. It didn't take her long to find one however, as she aligned herself with the Women's Champion Charlotte at WWE Extreme Rules.

Dana Brooke still has a long way to go in professional wrestling, but she has certainly given a good account of herself on the main roster to date. In a new world of critically acclaimed performers there needs to be solid midcard heels, and Dana's 2016 leads us to believe she will be valuable for years to come.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
