A series of matches with AJ Styles and a catchphrase as simple as "stupid idiot" has completely reinvigorated Chris Jericho, whose 2016 kicked off with comparisons to Bon Jovi and scoffing at his "dad bod."

After realizing that the generic babyface character was getting over as well as a fart in church, the decision was made to turn Jericho heel, igniting a rivalry with AJ Styles that carried through WrestleMania. While their matches never quite reached the level that fans had hoped for, they were still very strong.

Jericho moved on to battle Dean Ambrose in a great, old-school wrestling match at the Payback pay-per-view before a miserable Asylum match at Extreme Rules threatened to unravel all of the progress that he had made to that point.

Thankfully, a series of matches against the likes of Cesaro and Zayn ahead of June's Money in the Bank Ladder match helped him recover nicely, firmly establishing the future Hall of Famer as one of the best wrestlers of the first-half of 2016.
