8. Triple H

Triple H only wrestled four televised matches in 2016 but it is difficult to find fault with any of his performances or, more importantly, reason that he does not belong in this top 10.

At the Royal Rumble in January, The Game entered the annual 30-man match as a surprise entrant, eliminating Roman Reigns and ensuring that the WWE Universe would see a brand new heavyweight champion of the world. From there, he engaged Dean Ambrose in a dramatic exchange that ended when he tossed The Lunatic Fringe to the arena floor and added a 12th championship to his sparkling resume.

A month later at WWE Roadblock, live from Toronto, The Game defended against Ambrose in a beautifully constructed match that ended with a Pedigree, but not before suggesting to fans that the ruler of the Ambrose Asylum was every bit his equal.

An unadvertised Monday Night Raw battle against Dolph Ziggler primed him for his WrestleMania 32 title defense against Roman Reigns. While the match has its critics, most due to its overly long nature and slow build, it hit its crescendo perfectly and delivered the right outcome: Reigns pinning The Game for the title.

Triple H even worked a few overseas main events against Dean Ambrose but has not been seen on television since his defeat in Dallas. Still, in a day and age where others from his era are clearly showing their age, The King of Kings delivered performances that suggest he can still hang with today's best.
