10 Best WWF VHS Tapes Ever Released

7. 1992 The Year In Review

This Silver Vision UK-exclusive is one of the rarest (and thus most expensive) tapes on the list, but it is worth every penny. 1992 is a year looked back on with nostalgic fondness by most wrestling fans, even though in reality it was the beginning of the WWF€™s first major decline in popularity. That is even more the case in the United Kingdom, where 1992 was the year the WWF peaked thanks to a hugely successful SummerSlam €™92 from Wembley Stadium, a show which still holds WWE€™s (genuine) all-time attendance record to this day. Forget WrestleMania III, there were more people in the building for SummerSlam than at that €“ or any other €“ WWF/E card in history. 1992 The Year In Review captures the essence of the year spectacularly. Where many future Year in Review tapes would lazily sift through the year in consecutive monthly order and only show the major pay-per-view matches, this does not do that. Instead the delightful Sean Mooney guides us through a wonderful three hour journey that takes in hidden gems such as Roddy Piper vs. Shawn Michaels, a Coliseum Exclusive pitting Shawn Michaels against Marty Jannetty from November, the useless but rarely-seen tag title change that saw Money Inc dethrone the Natural Disasters, and Ric Flair€™s second WWF Title victory over Randy Savage. The PPV matches selected are all good ones too, including the famous Hart-Bulldog main event from SummerSlam €™92, which is still one of the greatest matches ever wrestled in a WWF ring.
