10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Clash Of Champions 2020

5. The Mistreatment Of Asuka Begins (Again)

When Asuka won the SmackDown Women's Championship at the end of 2018, it seemed like WWE were finally ready to give her the spotlight she deserved back. And then they buried her so Charlotte Flair could look even stronger heading into WrestleMania 35.

When Asuka's Money In The Bank win led to a Raw Women's Championship reign a year later, this time it actually seemed like the company was finally ready to forget about their misgivings and return her to prominence. And then she lost (twice) to prop up the Sasha Banks/Bayley angle.

She finally regained that gold at SummerSlam and gained some retribution against Banks and Bayley in the process, making her look like the formidable champion we know she's capable of being. And then - wait for it - she was left off the Payback card altogether and will now put her gold on the line against Zelina Vega at Clash of Champions... on the Kick-Off show.

To put that in perspective: Asuka is currently the only champion not allowed to defend her gold on the main show. Yeah, it really looks like WWE is destined to continue overlooking the Empress of Tomorrow and that's a damn shame.
