10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Clash Of Champions 2020
4. Major Stars Will Be Absent
Another one of the problems created by Clash of Champions' whole all titles must be defended at all costs stipulation is the fact that it will ultimately lead to the absence of major stars who aren't featured in title programs.
Former Universal Champion Braun Strowman hasn't been involved in a program because this event was on the horizon, while the actual previous title holder, The Fiend Bray Wyatt, has also been inexplicably absent because the creative team chose not to pair him with new champ Roman Reigns at the event.
And then there's the likes of Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio and promising young talent like Dominic Mysterio. Yes, we could do without this feud continuing, but the fact that they probably won't be involved in Clash of Champions just because they don't hold any titles not only robs the event of more star-power, it means we'll have to wait another month until this can all finally end at Hell In A Cell.
The idea of ensuring the champions will defend their gold is nice, but not when it comes at the expense of the ongoing storylines and the stars involved in them.
