10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Royal Rumble 2021
5. The Randy Orton And The Fiend Theatrics Could Overshadow The Rumble
The program between Randy Orton and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt has been going on for some time now, with its theatrics dividing viewers. While some appreciate the lengths to which the creative team are going in terms of gimmicks, others are finding it too cartoonish for WWE programming - something that isn't helped by just how long it's going on.
With Orton targeting Alexa Bliss on the go-home episode of Raw, one would think that he and The Fiend would be destined to collide in another hokey matchup at the Royal Rumble. Instead, however, Orton is seemingly confirmed for the Rumble match itself.
With a revenge-driven Orton being, uh, all about revenge, it's unlikely that the Rumble match will be taking him to WrestleMania, and with Wyatt now absent for weeks, this could be WWE's opportunity to at least tease his return. That said, let's just hope that the cartoonish elements of this program don't end up overshadowing the men's Royal Rumble match like it has been doing throughout the entire build-up to the event.
