10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE WrestleMania 37
8. Dark Days Ahead For Asuka
Rhea Ripley's loss at WrestleMania last year predictably set her up for a lacklustre and directionless journey. The fact that she's set to take on Asuka at the marquee event this year could give her the redemption she desperately craves to get back to where she needs to be.
That said, all you have to do is look at Asuka to see that putting a title on someone doesn't always give them that redemption. The Empress of Tomorrow has never fully recovered from the damage that the company did to her when she too lost to Charlotte at WrestleMania back in 2018. Unlike with Rhea, however, it wasn't the loss that hurt her but the absolute garbage that came after it.
Things have been better for Asuka since those days, sure, but putting the Raw Women's Championship belt on her hasn't been the saving grace it should have been - because, yet again, creative don't care enough to give her material or storylines worthy of her talents.
So yes, it's imperative that Rhea Ripley win the Raw Women's Championship to start her own journey towards redemption but the problem there is that it's also an inevitability at this point. WWE has treated the red brand's women's champion rather poorly as of late, so who knows what horrors await Asuka when they finally give up and take the title from her at WrestleMania.
