10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE WrestleMania 37
4. Almost None Of The Matches Belong To Long-Term Feuds
WrestleMania is considered by many to be WWE's season finale. The Show of Shows that brings many of the company's long-term storylines to a close and kicks off brand new ones in the process - ones that may even carry the product to SummerSlam. That, however, won't be the case this year.
Looking at the WrestleMania 37 match card, you have the obligatory title matches at the top all the way down to the celebrity-focused filler. But you have to really look to find any kind of meaningful or story-based contest. Granted, you have Edge and Rhea Ripley's quests for redemption but a lot of that journey took place off-screens and they still very much center on those respective superstars, not who they are competing against.
Granted we have some longer-lasting feuds on the card in the form of Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro and Bad Bunny and Damian Priest vs. Miz and Morrison, but Randy Orton vs. The Fiend Bray Wyatt is the only real example of a long-term feud that seems destined to reach a boiling point at WrestleMania 37 (and even then it's almost too hokey to call 'meaningful').
The truth is that having the biggest show of the year consist of little more than a series of contests that feel like they were just thrown-together at the last minute risks cheapening the event - and when you have a significant lack of star power involved this year, that is not the approach you should be taking.
