10 Big Mistakes WWE Made At SummerSlam 2016

9. Where Was Sami Zayn?

There were two notable absentees from the show last night. I'll get onto the second in a moment, but where in the blue thunder was Sami Zayn last night? Well, we know where he was: he was slotted into a throwaway tag team match on the Kickoff show with Neville against the Dudleyz.

Zayn and Neville won and the Dudleyz dissension continued, which in itself is a head-scratching move right now.

Last month at WWE Battleground, Sami Zayn defeated his blood rival Kevin Owens in what may go down as the best WWE main roster match of 2016. His reward was a high draft placement at number 11, yet WWE creative could find nothing for him at this, the second biggest show of the year.

A number of names were missing from the show last night, outside of Zayn and the second. Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, Kane, Nia Jax, Kalisto and others, but you can pretty much accept those guys missing out. Zayn was the highest-placing draft pick to miss out on the main show, a main show that included 10 matches and a total of 30 competitors.

This is ridiculous.
