When The New Day arrived on WWE TV, they were one of the worst parts of the show.

The happy clappy babyface schtick was groan-inducing from the start, but a heel turn saw messrs. Kingston, Woods and E. become the most entertaining act on WWE programming. They won the WWE Tag Team Titles and consistently defended them, bringing a credibility back to the belts that had been long missing.

Somewhere along the way they turned face again, and have now completed one full rotation of the sun so to speak. They started off irritating before becoming awesome, and have now smoothly transitioned back into the lame side. Jon Stewart became an honorary member here, and his interference towards the end of this match was painful to watch.

Something must have gone wrong, because once Stewart was involved it seemed as though everyone was moving through sludge.

As for The Club? Something just hasn't clicked. The duo needed to win the titles here and end New Day's record run, before defending the titles and becoming the bad-ass duo they really should be. As it was, New Day retained by getting disqualified and being cheered for it.

This was awful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
