10 Big Questions Coming From WWE Royal Rumble 2015

7. Is Roman Reigns Viable As A WrestleMania Main Eventer?

Roman Reigns is a good choice to main event WrestleMania. The negative reaction to Reigns winning the Rumble wasn't really about the former Shield star. It was more about Daniel Bryan. WWE fans felt like Bryan absolutely had to be the winner of the Rumble. When fans realised that wasn't going to be the case, they decided to turn on the Rumble in a way more severe than WWE ever anticipated. Boos poured down as Roman Reigns won the match and sealed his place at WrestleMania. Still, that doesn't suddenly mean that Reigns isn't a viable main event guy. He's got the look and he's got the defined moveset. His merchandising is strong. Granted his microphone work needs to be improved, but WWE are also culpable for that due to some astoundingly bad scripts they've gave the star. If this had been six months ago, fans would've ate it up. In fact, last year, there were loud "ROMAN REIGNS" chants toward the end of the 2014 Rumble. His lack of cheers this year was merely down to circumstance at being elevated when Bryan had just returned. When it came down to it, WWE had to choose between Bryan and Reigns to go over. Bryan was the short term investment that would payoff big, whereas Reigns was the long term investment that could have a Cena-esque franchise run. WWE went with Reigns on a gamble that fans would buy his win, but the gamble didn't work. Still, he's headed for the main events. Nothing will change that. Even if he needs to go heel, he's going to be a main eventer. He has it and he'll prove it.
