When TMZ broke the story of Lana and Rusev's real-life engagement, you could almost hear the teeth gnashing at WWE headquarters. Then again, maybe not; after all, it's provided a nice shortcut out of a particularly messy storyline. The Rusev/Lana/Summer Rae/Ziggler angle has frustrated for months now, stalling the momentum of just about everybody involved (with the possible exception of Summer). Now that a conclusion finally appears to be on the horizon, all four can finally go their separate ways. In fact, maybe WWE "encouraged" the story to be broken by mainstream news outlets, giving them a convenient excuse to torpedo this ludicrous angle. It certainly wouldn't be the most outlandish decision in the world, allowing Lana and Rusev to return to their earlier status as stern heels, or even start over as sympathetic babyfaces. Meanwhile, Ziggler can go on to feud with Cena - while Summer has built a good reputation as an obnoxious manager, a useful partner for heels struggling with charisma.
