10 Big Talking Points From WWE Fastlane 2017
8. The Ending Of Nia Jax’s Streak
At one point during Fastlane, it looked as though a streak vs. streak match between Nia Jax and Charlotte could have been in the pipeline.
Michael Cole was talking up Nia’s mini-streak and her opportunity to go 4-0 from her first four PPV matches, a result that would have put her in elite female company alongside only Charlotte and the Fabulous Moolah. But that idea was soon laid to waste when Nia promptly lost to Sasha Banks, despite having comprehensively beaten Banks twice in the space of a couple of nights at the tail end of January.
On the one hand, a potential showdown of Nia’s streak vs. Charlotte’s streak may not have been the most enthralling of prospects, but it at least meant that Nia had something going for her. Now, without that streak to her name, she’s arguably no different to any of the other women on the roster, other than the fact that she’s far less polished than the rest of the top contenders.
It begs the question as to what exactly could be next for Nia Jax and, more importantly, should we even care now that her PPV streak has been ended?
