3. Winning Isn't Everything

Just before the Universal Title bout, there was a singles match between Darren Young and Titus O'Neal. The two former tag team partners have been feuding for weeks, and following Bob Backlund's failed run-in on O'Neal last week, this match was signed.

The bout was incredibly one-sided. O'Neal got the heat after Young took a huge bump out of the ring on an Irish whip, but the remainder of the bout just saw O'Neal work his onetime partner over. The crowd didn't have any comeback to get behind - the match just ended when Young rolled O'Neal up.

It's hard to fathom how WWE expects Darren Young to get over when he competes in a match structured like this. Following the bout, Young and Backlund celebrated, but O'Neal came back and laid them both out. Once again, this was a really poor way to try and get a babyface over, which presumably is their goal.
