10 Big Wrestling Matches With Terrible Botched Finishes

2. Gail Kim Vs. Mickie James (Raw, August 2009)

Gail Kim and Mickie James were two tremendous women's wrestlers at a time when WWE weren't exactly known for making the best use of their Divas division (as it was known back then). Sadly, no amount of skill could save them from the mistake that became of their Raw singles match ahead of SummerSlam 2009.

The bout went to hell following a missed second rope cross body. Gail took a nasty landing, and when she got back up, it was as if she'd transformed into the second coming of Jackie Gayda. A long series of botches and miscommunications followed, with the finish being the finest of them all.

James went for a DDT on Kim, but Gail didn't cooperate. She stayed rooted, and it was as if Mickie had to drag her down to the mat before Kim eventually collapsed. Back on their feet, Mickie went for a kick that whizzed harmlessly past her opponent's face, before knocking her down with a weak forearm and scoring the pinfall. A messy conclusion, but it was later revealed that Gail had suffered a concussion from the botched cross body, hence the lack of coordination.
