10 Big WWE Face/Heel That Must Happen In 2018
2. Face: Kevin Owens
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are the best thing on SmackDown at the moment.
Their constant trolling of Shane McMahon almost makes the spotlight-hogging Commissioner's presence bearable, and Zayn has taken to his new role effortlessly. The act's still got plenty of mileage, too. There's no express need to split them up again, but their history is too volatile for them to coexist indefinitely, and they're going to fall out eventually.
Pushing Sami back into the babyface role is too predictable. Instead, the company should consider flipping the script, switching Owens to the light side of the alignment scale for the first time in his run, and booking him as an Attitude-style anti-hero rather than the heel mainstream audiences have always known him as.
KO is, of course, an excellent bad guy, but he has incredible babyface potential. Bring back his 'Prizefighter' persona's family-first message, remove his cowardice, and let Owens turn his razor-sharp wit on SmackDown's heels instead. It'll make him even more popular than he already is, and give his character a new lease of life after several years effectively playing the same role.
