10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2015

4. Rey Mysterio

Mysterio's contract situation with WWE has been a controversial subject for a number of months. He suffered a number of injuries during his latest WWE tenure and missed months of live television and events as a result. His competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania but then took time off afterwards to heal a wrist injury. Reports circulated that Mysterio wanted to leave WWE and possibly return to Mexico and work for Konnan's AAA promotion. However, due to the amount of time that Mysterio missed with injury, WWE was able to extend Mysterio's contract without Rey approving it. There were reported ill-feelings on both sides and Mysterio seemed like he wanted to wait out the remainder of the contract. Mysterio even went so far as to send a video to AAA which was played during Triplemania and visited the new Lucha Underground promotion without WWE approval. Besides being a wrestling household name, Mysterio is also very valuable to WWE when it comes to merchandising. Tons of children buy his masks and t-shirts and he's also a link to the growing Hispanic audience in various parts of the country. Recent reports state that Mysterio and WWE have come to an understanding, meaning it may only be a matter of time before we see Rey back in a WWE ring.
