One of the biggest problems with WWE right now is that new talent can't get over. The 50/50 booking model that WWE subscribes to is one of the largest issues facing the company today. 50/50 booking is a useless principal where two guys trade victories on television for months on end with no wrestler getting an advantage over the other. While that may sound like a good idea if you've had a lobotomy, the end result is both guys are viewed as "middle of the road" by the live crowd and no one cares about them. However, when a part-timer like Brock Lesnar, the Rock, or Batista come back, what happens? They are instantly put over everyone on the roster, allowed to destroy hapless midcarders, given clean victories on major shows, and booked like total monsters. Amazingly enough, this actually gets the wrestler over! What a shock! Right now, the main event slots in the company are being filled by a combination of Brock Lesnar, Batista, Triple H, John Cena, Kane, and the Shield. Three of those guys are either part-time, semi-retired, or leaving as soon as their movie promotion begins. Why should I care about a guy like Big E Langston when you've already shown me that Lesnar, Batista, and Triple H are above him? WWE treats the returning part-timers as legendary superstars and their full-time roster members as curtain jerkers. Even established main event player CM Punk was book to lay down for the Almighty Dwayne Johnson so he could job to John Cena at Wrestlemania in a result no one wanted to see. Don't get me wrong, I love the Rock more than anyone else out there but what was the point of making him WWE champion? Does the Rock have 3 million friends who only watch Raw when he's world champion? Vince McMahon relies on part-timers (aka old guys) because he has no faith in his new talent. The reason he doesn't have faith in his new talent in because they aren't over with the audience. However, the reason the new talent isn't over with the audience is because Vince McMahon has no faith in them and won't book them as winners. You can see how this would be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
