10 Biggest Disappointments In WWE Elimination Chamber History

7. Alberto Del Rio Vs. The Big Show

This one was a let-down for a couple of reasons.

First-off, when Alberto Del Rio defended his World Heavyweight Championship against the Big Show at Elimination Chamber 2013, the feud was anything but fresh.

The pair had already faced each other in singles action three times in the preceding months, and two of those matches had been Last Man Standing bouts. To then regress to a straightforward one-on-one match seemed a little counter-intuitive. Their best work with one another was already behind them - and this blow-off match suffered as a result.

Secondly, the knock-on effect of this meeting meant there was no World Heavyweight Title Chamber match on the 2013 show. Instead, six title hopefuls battled for a shot at Del Rio’s belt at WrestleMania 29, with Jack Swagger coming out on top.

I guess you could say that a number one contender’s bout inside the Elimination Chamber may have helped the belt seem like a big deal, but it didn’t do the match’s billing any favours.

Ultimately, removing the World Title from the Chamber match to facilitate round four of Del Rio vs. Big Show didn't seem like a worthwhile trade-off.
