10 Biggest Disappointments In WWE Elimination Chamber History
6. No World Title Chamber Match In 2015
The story of the Elimination Chamber 2015 event isn’t particularly straightforward.
Having been replaced by Fastlane in the February PPV slot, it looked like the show had been dropped from the company calendar altogether. But, at the last minute, WWE announced a bonus PPV under the Elimination Chamber banner, sandwiched in the four-week period between the Payback and Money in the Bank shows.
A hastily-arranged card was put together, headlined by an excellent WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. As awesome as that meeting was, though, it was just a singles match - meaning it could have taken place on just about any other show of the year.
That seemed to cheapen the Chamber stipulation somewhat. On its big return, it was relegated from one of the most extreme match-types in WWE to a run-of-the-mill gimmick that featured on the undercard.
Granted we did at least get a couple of Elimination Chamber matches earlier on in the show but as we’ll soon see, neither were anything to shout about…
