7. Drew McIntyre

The saving grace for Drew McIntyre is that he does - when he comes back from his latest injury setback, at least - have the opportunity to right the wrongs of his first WWE run by making good his pledge to become the first British world champ.

Until he does, though, mainstream fans unfamiliar with his NXT comeback will perhaps chiefly remember him for the time he was anointed The Chosen One by none other than chairman of the board Vince McMahon, and then quickly struggled to live up to the billing.

This was as much down to poor booking as it was any personal shortcomings on the part of the future TNA star. If you're going to christen someone wrestling's next big thing, there ought to be a more concerted campaign to push them to the top.

Instead, McIntyre only got as far as the Intercontinental Championship, and left the company in 2014 with business very much unfinished. Here's hoping that he puts any lingering doubts to bed with his second run.
