10 Biggest Megalomaniacs In WWE History

2. Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon equated 9/11 to her father's steroid trial. That is reason enough alone to put her on this list.

To go on further, in her mind, it seems that she thinks she’s earned her position at the top of the wrestling world. She was born into royalty, but truly believes she has earned everything she has been given. She has essentially become the second most powerful person in the business, and doesn’t seem to realize that if her last name wasn’t McMahon she wouldn’t have made it a day in the wrestling industry in any form.

Steph’s megalomania has displayed itself many ways throughout the years. She’s adopted an approach to wrestling that has failed spectacularly, and yet won’t admit defeat. She’s hired dozens of former Hollywood writers for her creative team, instead of going with a few trusted industry regulars who know how the business works. During her time on top of creative, the ratings have collapsed, and the revolving door of writers continues. She clearly does not blame herself.

She also conveniently finds a way to make herself look like an amazing person whenever possible. Despite no evidence of her giving a damn about women’s wrestling in her first 17 years in WWE, she suddenly took an interest in 2015 by calling up some talented female competitors, and then took all the credit for their accomplishments. She also became the face of Connor’s Cure, and starred in all the promotional videos, despite the fact that it was Justin Roberts who did all the work of establishing that relationship by striking up a real friendship with the family. But where was he in all those charity videos?

Then there’s Steph talking down to all of the wrestlers on the roster for years; verbally and physically slapping them all without a care in the world. And yet she can't act like every other heel whose ever existed and let someone go over on her. When a good pal of Hunter, in Batista, points that out on Twitter, you should probably take notice. She has not.

While her ego is massive, the only one in all of wrestling who can surpass her's is her own father...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
