10 Biggest Megalomaniacs In WWE History

3. Ultimate Warrior

After his death, WWE began painting Warrior as a saint. He’s now pushed as an inspirational figure who succeeded because he believed in himself. This is despite all of the homophobic and hateful things he spewed out during his days on Earth. But when he was alive, you’d be hard pressed to find any wrestler who had anything nice to say about him.

Warrior was a huge pain to work with to put things mildly. He was incredibly reckless in the ring, and worst of all, believed in his own manufactured hype. He squashed every veteran wrestler who was far more talented than him, and didn’t appreciate their sacrifice. He demanded to be paid as much as Hulk Hogan, despite never drawing anywhere near as much as him. He was a man that took, and took, but never gave back. Go back and try to find any up-and-comer he put over throughout his entire career. Good luck.

After wrestling ended for him (mainly because he couldn’t get along with any promoters), he began making up words on his website and called out basically and everyone he worked with and for. He continued to take himself way, way too seriously and screwed over multiple promoters along the way. Even though WWE graciously let him into their Hall of Fame (despite him saying he would only help Vince if he was on fire, because he couldn't resist pissing on him) he still took a good chunk of time talking about how he believed the company screwed him over in the past. He couldn’t let any of that go for a single night! No other Hall of Famer has come across as so bitter in their acceptance speech than him.

Warrior was a man who acted like he was superior to everyone else, and never gave back to the business who made him so incredibly rich and famous.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
